Masjid Uganda

In Malaysia, mosques, suraus, and prayer halls can be found almost everywhere. However, for our brothers and sisters in Uganda, having a comfortable and proper mosque remains a significant challenge. They need a place of worship that is not only suitable for performing prayers, but also serves as a center for Islamic education and a gathering place for the local community.

In collaboration with NIDAU-Uganda, we aim to raise RM300,000. One hundred percent (100%) of the funds collected will be dedicated to the construction of a mosque in Yumbe District, a region locally known as “Muslim Town.” The district has an estimated population of 934,340 people, of whom approximately 76% are Muslims. Despite this large Muslim population, the community still faces various limitations in terms of worship facilities.

Many of the existing mosques in the area face several challenges, including:

Severe overcrowding, especially during Friday prayers and the month of Ramadan
Weak or temporary building structures
Inadequate toilet and ablution (wudu) facilities
Lack of dedicated spaces for women and youth development programs

The mosque to be built will not only serve as a place of worship but will also function as a center for knowledge, dawah, and community development, benefiting generations to come.

This project is being directly supervised by one of our DawahPro program alumni, Drate Rasul, who is originally from Uganda. He is the main person in charge of this mosque construction project and continues to actively spread the message of Islam and promote Islamic education among the local community. His involvement provides assurance that the project will be carried out with integrity, transparency, and a long-lasting positive impact on the community.
