A Place of Worship, Knowledge and Community

In Malaysia, mosques, suraus and prayer halls can be found almost everywhere. However, for our brothers and sisters in Uganda, having a comfortable and proper mosque remains a significant challenge.

They need a place of worship that is not only suitable for performing prayers, but also serves as a centre for Islamic education and a gathering place for the local community.

In collaboration with NIDAU-Uganda, the project set out to raise RM300,000, with 100% of the funds collected dedicated to the construction of a mosque in Yumbe District, a region locally known as “Muslim Town”.

Addressing the Community’s Needs

Despite the large Muslim population in the district, many existing mosques face challenges that affect worship and community activities.

01

Severe overcrowding, especially during Friday prayers and Ramadan.

02

Weak or temporary building structures.

03

Inadequate toilet and ablution facilities.

04

Lack of dedicated spaces for women and youth development programmes.
