Shariah Intelligence (From Principles to Practice: Shariah in Action)
IDT's Bulletin | Team IDT | 29 November 2025

Alhamdulillah, the Shariah Intelligence program was successfully held on 25 to 26 October 2025 at the Dawah Academy International Hall in Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur. Organized by the Interactive Dakwah and Tarbiyah Association (IDT), the two-day course brought together professionals, educators, and da’wah practitioners to explore how Shariah principles can be applied in today’s fast-moving world.
The program was led by Sheikh Nuruddeen Lemu, Director of Research and Training at the Islamic Education Trust in Nigeria, Sister Salatu Sule, Director of Beyond Academic at New Horizon College in Minna, and Brother Lim Jooi Soon, Founder and main trainer of IDT. They guided participants through thoughtful and practical discussions on how Shariah functions as a comprehensive guidance system rooted in justice, mercy, and balance. The sessions focused on the Maqasid al-Shariah and how these principles can shape governance, education, business, and interfaith engagement.
40 participants joined the program, coming from both Malaysia and overseas. Among them were lecturers from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), two officers from the Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP), four participants from Al Ikhsan Sports, and several others from various organisations. The program also welcomed international attendees, including a participant from the Her Highness Organisation in Sri Lanka and several participants from the Philippines and as well as the director and officer from AMCF (Asia Muslim Charity Foundation), Indonesia. Their presence added valuable global insights that enhanced the overall learning experience.
By the end of the program, participants gained a clearer and more confident understanding of Shariah, not only as theory but as a living framework they can apply meaningfully in their personal, professional, and da’wah work. The Shariah Intelligence program continues IDT’s mission to nurture leaders who represent Islam with wisdom, compassion, and integrity.
