About Us
IDT was founded by Brother Lim Jooi Soon to continue his long-standing mission of spreading the message of Islam since 1995. Raised in a Buddhist household, he also trained in Christian biblical studies in Adelaide, Australia, before embracing Islam. Through his remarkable journey, the founder and President of IDT has become one of Malaysia’s leading experts in comparative religion. Established in 2014, IDT was created to strengthen Brother Lim’s dakwah efforts, backed by over 29 years of experience. Initially, the organization focused on guiding reverts and born Muslims seeking to rediscover their faith and grow into better Muslims. Today, IDT’s mission has expanded to delivering a clear and compassionate message of Islam to people from all walks of life—across diverse races, religions, and cultures throughout the ASEAN region. IDT understands the identity struggles often faced by reverts and strives to promote a strong sense of connection by offering personal coaching, mentorship, financial assistance, educational classes, and social gatherings. These efforts have even led to the emergence of new ambassadors of Islam from within the revert community itself.
IDT understands the identity struggle experienced by reverts and helps to instill a sense of community by organizing various activities such as personal coaching, mentorship, monetary aid, classes, and social gatherings for them. Our work has even nourished new ambassadors of Islam within the Muslim revert community itself.

Spreading the Message
Our Purpose
What We Do
Engage the public on the message of Islam globally
Interactive Dakwah & Tarbiyah Association (IDT) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) focused on inclusive efforts in dakwah (Islamic outreach) and tarbiyah (education and spiritual development), both nationally and globally. Initially established to guide new Muslims and those seeking to strengthen their faith, IDT now offers its services to people from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, or cultural background.
We understand the challenges faced by new Muslims and provide continuous support through programs such as Fardhu Ain classes, personal guidance, financial assistance, mentoring sessions, and social gatherings.
Our key programs includes the New Muslim Class, Mualaf Mentoring Course, Dakwah 101–103, Akar Umbi Nasrani, Aspirasi Remaja and Field Dakwah workshops, which emphasize on dakwah plus comparative religion intelectual sessions.
IDT also organizes special programs such as the Muallaf Camp and Eid celebrations with new Muslims, aimed at fostering unity and community support. We apply a coaching-based approach to ensure effective and continuous guidance in our educational efforts.
In 2022, we launched the DawahPro program, which successfully trained hundreds of du’at (Islamic preachers) from over 20 countries, including Nigeria, Uganda, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Ukraine, Italy, USA, Fiji, Kiribati, Australia and many others to deliver dakwah effectively and systematically within their communities.
