Explore Education and Leadership Opportunities
Wangsa Maju, Kuala Lumpur — Representatives from NAMA Foundation visited Interactive Dakwah & Tarbiyah (IDT) at IDT Centre, Level 1, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM to explore collaboration in education, leadership development, and community support initiatives. The foundation was represented by Md Ghani Ibrahim, Head of Partnership & Public Relations, and Sayyed Zayd Almahdaly, Partnership Executive. They were warmly welcomed by IDT’s leadership team, including Brother Lim Jooi Soon, President of IDT, Ustaz Mohd Abdullah, Education and Research Manager; and Brother Lim Ming Terk.
During the visit, discussions focused on potential collaboration in education-focused programmes, leadership training, and structured support for new Muslims (reverts), particularly initiatives that are inclusive and sustainable.
Brother Lim Jooi Soon presented IDT’s key programmes, including:
- Diploma Pengajian Islam
- New Muslim Class
- DawahPro Programme
These initiatives are designed to provide structured learning paths, build confidence, and develop leadership skills for new Muslims and community leaders. The discussion highlighted revert support initiatives, including the development of Revert Classes under an international framework, providing guidance, education, and mentoring for new Muslims.
NAMA Foundation also shared its experience running business and skills training programmes with interest-free financing, particularly suitable for reverts seeking financial independence. Plans were discussed to organise Islamic education and leadership training programmes at IDT, with programme branding focusing on education and leadership.
As part of the visit, the IDT team accompanied the NAMA Foundation representatives on a tour of the Dawah Academy International Hall, including a walk-through of the dormitory, surau, and library, giving them a clear view of the facilities available to students and participants in IDT’s programmes. The visit ended on a positive note, with both sides looking forward to working together to provide meaningful opportunities in education, leadership, and community support for new Muslims and students in need.
