In an increasingly interconnected and borderless world, the need for da’wah practitioners who are knowledgeable, skilled, and capable of engaging with people from diverse backgrounds has never been more critical. Recognising this need, the Interactive Dakwah and Tarbiyah Association (IDT) introduced DawahPro Global, an international intensive 30-day da’wah training programme aimed at producing a new generation of du’at who are able to convey the message of Islam in a professional, wise, and relevant manner to the global community.
DawahPro Global integrates Islamic knowledge, da’wah methodology, communication skills, and practical training into a comprehensive platform for da’wah development. Through this programme, participants are exposed to various essential aspects of da’wah, including effective communication, interfaith dialogue, revert management, and appropriate da’wah approaches for multicultural and global societies.
Since its first intake in 2022, DawahPro Global has successfully trained a total of 400 participants from 36 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United States, the Netherlands, Portugal, Ukraine, South Africa, Taiwan, Fiji, and Sri Lanka. This achievement demonstrates that this Malaysia-founded programme is increasingly gaining recognition and trust as a competitive international platform for da’wah training.
The programme has also received support and recognition from various institutions, including the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) and the Pahang Islamic Religious Council (MUIP), which serves as the programme’s largest funding contributor. In addition, the programme was jointly officiated by YB Senator Dr. Zulkifli Hasan and the Rector of Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS), Dato’ Professor Dr. Mohd Farid Ravi bin Abdullah. DawahPro Global has also featured internationally recognised da’wah figures such as Sheikh Nuruddeen Lemu from Nigeria, further strengthening the global values and perspectives promoted by the programme.
Through the training provided, participants not only enhance their knowledge and da’wah skills but also develop self-confidence and the ability to explain Islam rationally, respectfully, and with wisdom. The programme also serves as a networking platform that brings together participants from various countries to share experiences, exchange ideas, and establish collaborations to strengthen da’wah efforts at the global level.
Overall, DawahPro Global is one of IDT’s significant initiatives in developing the capacity of da’wah practitioners for the global community. By combining knowledge, practical training, and international networking, the programme continues to play an important role in nurturing credible du’at while serving as a bridge that connects people around the world to the beauty of Islamic teachings. It is hoped that the noble efforts behind this initiative will continue to grow, expand, and positively reach every corner of the world in a sustainable manner.
