A journey to be a professional duat: DawahPro Global Batch 17th
PROACTIVE, PROGRESSIVE, PROFICIENT
Alhamdulillah, Interactive Dakwah and Tarbiyah (IDT), in collaboration with Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP), successfully conducted the 17th Batch of DawahPro Global from 6 July to 4 August 2026 at Dawah Academy International, Kuala Lumpur.
This 30-day international programme brought together 25 participants from 11 countries, including Pakistan, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Malawi, the Philippines, South Africa, India, Taiwan, Indonesia, Myanmar, and Nigeria. United by a shared commitment, participants embarked on a journey to strengthen their da’wah skills, deepen their Islamic understanding, and develop themselves as effective ambassadors of Islam.
The programme began on 7 July 2026 with a city tour designed to introduce participants to the cultural and Islamic heritage of Kuala Lumpur. The first destination was Masjid Jamek, where participants joined a mosque tour conducted by a guide from ABIM-IOAC. They learned about the mosque’s history, architecture, significance, and its role in the early Muslim community as well as the development of Islam in Kuala Lumpur.
Beyond observing the mosque, participants were also introduced to practical skills in conducting mosque tours for non-Muslims. They learned how to present Islamic practices, history, and culture in an engaging and informative manner. This experience allowed them to appreciate Malaysia’s Islamic heritage, reflect on the spread of Islam in Southeast Asia, and understand the role of mosques as centres of community engagement.
The group then visited KLCC, one of Malaysia’s most iconic landmarks, where participants experienced the unique blend of modern development, culture, and tradition. The tour continued to Masjid India and its surrounding area, allowing participants to explore the vibrant Muslim community and commercial landscape of Kuala Lumpur.
More than a sightseeing activity, the city tour provided participants with cultural exposure, historical knowledge, practical da’wah insights, and opportunities to build stronger bonds among fellow participants. It served as an enriching experience that prepared them mentally, spiritually, and socially before beginning their intensive training.
From 8 July to 2 August 2026, the programme continued with comprehensive classroom sessions led by experienced trainers, including Brother Lim Jooi Soon, Ustaz Amin Yaacob, Brother Ashraf Azhar, and Brother Syafiq Apandi. Throughout the programme, participants were guided through the DawahPro curriculum, focusing on authentic Islamic knowledge and practical da’wah approaches. Through lessons, quizzes, assessments, fieldwork, and presentations, participants developed stronger discipline, confidence, teamwork, and communication skills in conveying Islam with wisdom and clarity.
A key highlight of the training was the individual presentation session held towards the end of the programme. Participants demonstrated their understanding, confidence, and ability to convey Islamic teachings effectively, reflecting the significant growth they had achieved throughout the month-long journey. The presentations showcased not only their knowledge but also their development in public speaking, critical thinking, and practical da’wah skills.
Following the presentation session, participants sat for the final examination held in the evening, which marked the final stage of their learning journey in DawahPro Global. The examination evaluated their overall understanding, knowledge retention, and ability to apply the lessons and da’wah approaches gained throughout the 30-day programme.

Following the award presentation, Sister Alima Mirriam Nyoni, the Best Student and also Best Presenter, delivered a special speech and presentation using the method taught by Brother Lim Jooi Soon. Her presentation demonstrated the practical application of the knowledge, confidence, and da’wah skills acquired throughout the programme, reflecting the transformative impact of the training.
In his closing remarks, Brother Lim reminded the participants that their true da’wah mission continues beyond the classroom — within their families, workplaces, and communities. He encouraged them to carry the knowledge, values, and spirit of da’wah back to their respective countries and continue representing Islam with wisdom, compassion, and integrity.
As the participants return to their respective nations, IDT hopes that they will continue the legacy of da’wah by applying the knowledge and skills they have gained, nurturing positive change within their communities, and inspiring others towards a better understanding of Islam. May they remain steadfast as ambassadors of Islam, spreading its message with wisdom, mercy, and sincerity wherever they go.
