DawahPro Basics Orang Asli 1st Series

From Fundamentals to Basics – Strengthening Da‘wah Practice

Alhamdulillah, from 9 to 13 May 2026, the Interactive Dakwah and Tarbiyah Association (IDT), in collaboration with Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP), successfully conducted the first series of DawahPro Basics Orang Asli at Wisma IDT, Kuala Lumpur. The five-day intensive programme brought together 23 female participants from various districts.

Under the guidance of Brother Lim Jooi Soon and Ustaz Amin Yaacob, participants were trained to convey the message of Islam with clarity, confidence, and practical understanding. This programme marked a progression from the DawahPro Fundamentals level, strengthening participants’ da‘wah skills and moving them into a more structured and applied Basics stage.

As this cohort had already been exposed to fundamental da‘wah techniques, the participants of this first Orang Asli DawahPro Basics series showed strong understanding, confidence, and ability throughout the programme. Their prior exposure helped them participate more actively, understand content faster, and apply what they learned in discussions and activities. The focus of the training was to improve communication, build confidence, and prepare participants for real da‘wah

Key Programme Highlights:

  • Active Learning and Assessment

Each session ended with a short quiz to check understanding and keep participants engaged. Assessment was based on quizzes, attendance, attitude, and presentations, helping to build discipline and teamwork.

  • Comprehensive Da‘wah Topics

Participants were introduced to public speaking, interfaith understanding, and practical ways to explain Islam clearly and respectfully. Trainers also discussed current issues to help participants handle real situations outside the classroom.

The closing ceremony was attended by MUIP representative, Chris Lim Cheng Wei, Penolong Pegawai Dakwah, Majlis Ugama Islam dan Adat Resam Melayu Pahang (MUIP). His presence showed MUIP’s continued support for outreach work within the Orang Asli community.

All participants received certificates of completion, while top achievers were also celebrated for their excellent performance throughout the programme.

Top achievers of the programme were:

  1. Siti Salmiah binti Sulong – (Best Student)
  2. Nurul Aziana binti Bidi – 2nd Place
  3. Nurul Arsy binti Abdullah – 3rd Place

Best Presenter: Siti Salmiah binti Sulong — she also performed very well throughout the programme and showed strong understanding and confidence in her presentation.

Alhamdulillah, the programme ended well, and all participants returned with knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to share Islam in a clear and sincere way. IDT hopes this initiative will continue to nurture more da‘ie who are able to carry forward the legacy of da‘wah, ensuring that the message of Islam continues to be shared with wisdom, sincerity, and consistency across generations.
